During the implementation we compared the EU with US standards and are glad to share our experiences here.

1. Audits and Inspections as KPI become more important

A really good support for the supervisors and safety managers are the digital checklists for going through directly at the workplace. Usability and mobility of devises worth much the users.

2. Accident reporting has many targets

An accident is reported not only for the fulfillment of the official reporting obligation. More important is to share an internal one pager report to learn from the experience. It is a short summary of accident, root cause analysis and corrective actions. The approach is individual and ranges from a simple near-miss report to a comprehensive action workflow.

 3. The standards for the handling of dangerous substances are similar

GHS standards for hazardous substances are comparable to REACH and CLP standards. Above all, it is expressed in globally valid classification of the pictograms. That is why our module “Hazardous Substances” is also well received in the USA.

4. A good software is easy to understand and flexible in design

In the case of intercontinental introductions, multi-client capability (ability to customize the software depending on the location) is simply indispensable.

During the three-day workshop, we accompanied the management and safety experts at two locations through the introduction. It was a great confirmation to hear that the software is very easy to understand. “Once you have understood a module, you have mastered the entire product,” was the response of the SHERM key users.
